We're just a bunch of guys from around Yelaburga who decided to get together as Kanakaraya Farmer Producer Company Limited. It's mostly about helping each other out with seeds and selling what we grow. Our office is over at Basanagouda's place in Vajrabandi. It's not a big fancy office, just a room where we meet up and talk about the rain or the prices at the market. Sometimes the paperwork gets confusing, but we manage. Being a farmer producer company means we try to get better deals for everyone involved. It's hard work under the sun most days, but it's what we know. We started this because doing it alone was getting too difficult for most of the families around here. Now we share the costs of tools and transport, which helps a bit. If you're looking for us, just ask for the house near the main road. We spend most of our time out in the fields anyway, so the office is usually quiet until the evening hours. We deal with whatever crops are in season at the time. Last year was a bit dry, but this year looks better so far. It’s just us trying to make a living and keeping the farms going without losing too much money to middle buyers. We don't have a big corporate team, just local folks who know the soil here and want to keep farming. It's honest work.
