Handanakere Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are mostly just farmers from Handanakere village. Most of us have lived here in the Handanakere Hobli part of Chikkanayakanahalli our whole lives. It is a quiet place in Tumkur district where things move slow. We started this company because it is hard to do everything alone when you are just one family farming a small patch of ground. Usually, we are out in the fields by six in the morning before the sun gets too hot. Dealing with the rain is always a gamble. Some years we get enough and other years we just watch the sky and hope for the best. We grow what the soil here allows. It is mostly groundnuts or ragi depending on the season. Our office is right here in the village, nothing fancy. People just walk in when they need to talk about seeds or what to do with the harvest. We aren't trying to be some big corporate office with suits and ties. We wear our work clothes because there is always something to lift or move. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside and talk. It’s a way to make sure we don’t get cheated at the big markets. Most of the people involved are neighbors. We know each other’s families and who’s struggling with their tractor. It’s just how we live and work here. We don't have any big plans other than keeping the farms running as best we can.
