Devanamapriya Farmers Producer Company Limited is located at H No 3-4-95 in Ramkrishna Colony. We’re right near the Mudiyappa Temple, so you can usually hear the morning bells from our front door. It’s a decent-sized house that we’ve turned into our main office for the company. Most of us are farmers from the surrounding area who wanted to find a better way to do things together. The company isn't anything fancy, just a way for us to buy things in bulk and sell our produce as one group. We spend a lot of time sitting on the porch talking about the weather or the rising price of diesel. It’s a simple operation. We don't have a bunch of city people running things; it's just us and a few helpers from the colony. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up because we’d rather be out in the dirt than sitting behind a desk. But we know it’s necessary to keep things legal and organized for the government. The temple is a good landmark for people coming from out of town to find us. We deal with all sorts of local crops that grow well here. It’s a lot of responsibility looking after the interests of so many farmers, but we do our best. We’ve lived in this colony for years, and the company is just an extension of our community here. We just want to keep the family farms going for a long time.
