If you walk down Tank Bond Road near the Gol Market, you’ll find us. We are the Ambigara Chowdaiah Fish Farmers Producer Company Limited. Being right near the Maremma Temple means we hear the bells every day while we work. This area has always been about water and fish. We spend a lot of time around the tanks, checking the water and making sure the fish are growing like they should. It is wet work and your clothes usually smell like the pond by noon. We aren't some big city firm with shiny desks. Most of our meetings happen right by the road or near the market stalls where people are shouting and buying vegetables. We got together because selling fish alone is hard, and it’s better when we do it as a group. The heat can be pretty bad in the afternoons, so we try to get most of the heavy lifting done early. Sometimes the nets tear or the transport is late, but we just deal with it. It’s a local life here. We know the shopkeepers at Gol Market and they know us. We are just local people who know how to raise fish and want to make sure our families are taken care of. It’s simple work, really, but it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. We mostly just focus on what's right in front of us.
