Our office is tucked away at number 1151 in the Temple Bells building, right on the 20th Main in Sahakarnagar’s A Block. Aaryagen Seeds And Technologies Private Limited is basically just a few of us working in this quiet corner of Bangalore. We spend most of our time looking at seed samples or sitting at our desks dealing with various bits of paperwork. The 20th B Cross is usually pretty peaceful, which is nice when you need to focus on the technical side of things. We have got some plants growing near the windows to see how they do in the local light, though they do not always cooperate. People in the building are friendly and we often run into neighbors while getting water or heading out for lunch. It is not a high-tech lab you see in the movies; it is just a practical room with some shelves and computers. We often have boxes stacked up in the corner waiting to be sent out to different parts of the country. Sometimes the traffic on the main road makes it a bit of a trek to get here, but once you are inside, it feels like a different world. We don't really do big meetings or fancy presentations here. Most of our work is just steady, daily tasks to make sure the seeds we are looking at are up to the right standards for the farmers who end up using them in their fields later.
