Brilliant Public School

You can find Brilliant Public School out on Siruguppa Road in the Havambavi area of Bellary. It’s a part of town that has grown a lot recently. The school is a big building with a lot of windows to let the light in. Bellary gets very hot, so we have big ceiling fans in every room. They make a clicking sound that we don't even notice anymore. We have a playground that is mostly red soil, which is common around here. The kids come home with red dust on their uniforms, and their mothers probably hate it. We have a small gate at the entrance where the watchman sits. He’s been with us since the beginning and knows all the parents. Inside, the halls are painted a pale green. We have a small computer room, but the internet is sometimes slow, so we have to be patient. During the lunch break, the kids sit in circles under the few trees we have. We try to keep the place as cool as possible. The teachers are busy people, always carrying bundles of notebooks to correct. We follow the standard curriculum and don't try to do anything too experimental. We just want the kids to learn their lessons well and pass their classes. It’s a straightforward school for people living in this part of Bellary. We do our best to keep things running smoothly. Sometimes we have to deal with power cuts in the afternoon. We try to keep the blackboards clean.
