Dalmia Cement

Our location is at R.S. No. 394, near the Ratna Cement place in Yadwad. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but it’s where the work is. Working with Dalmia Cement means a lot of heavy bags and plenty of grey dust everywhere you look. It is a big operation, but on the ground, it’s just us guys making sure the trucks get loaded and the stacks don't fall over. The sun can be pretty brutal out here in the Talukk, and there isn't much shade once you're out in the yard. We don't have any fancy offices with air conditioning; we’re usually just out where the action is. Most of us have worked around here for years, so we know the routine by heart. It’s not a complicated life. You show up, you move the cement, and you make sure everything is where it should be. The road to the post can be rough on the trucks, especially during the monsoon season when everything turns to mud. But we just deal with it as it comes. We don't spend time on big speeches or trying to look important. We’re just here to provide the cement that people need to build their houses and walls. It’s hard work, and your back definitely feels it by the end of the day, but it’s a steady living for everyone here.
