Roots Pure Veg Restaurant sits right on the NH-4 Pune Bangalore Highway at Honihalli Cross. It is a convenient spot for drivers who are tired and need a break from the road. We are near the Bharat Petrol Pump in Sankeshwar, so a lot of people stop for fuel and then wander over here for a meal. The kitchen stays pretty busy, especially during the lunch hour when the trucks and buses pull in. We serve basic vegetarian food that fills you up without costing too much money. It’s not a five-star place, but the tables are clean and the water is cold. We have been here for a while now, watching the traffic go by every day. Sometimes the rain gets heavy and things slow down, but usually, it is just a steady stream of travelers. Our staff are mostly local people from around Belgaum who know how to work fast when a big group arrives suddenly. We don't do anything too complicated with the menu. It is just the usual stuff people like to eat when they are traveling long distances. The building is easy to spot from the highway. We keep the lights on late because we know what it's like to be hungry on the road at night. It can get noisy with the engines outside, but inside we just focus on getting the plates out and keeping things running smoothly for everyone.
