Hotel Vits (Orchid Group Of Hotel),Belgaum

Our main spot is on Club Road in Belgaum, number 3935. It’s a busy road with a lot of cars and people moving about. We are part of the Vits and Orchid group, but the way we run things feels more local. Interestingly, the permanent address for some of our paperwork goes all the way back to Orissa, in Ganjam district. Specifically T. Berhampur near Kanamana. It’s quite a distance between Karnataka and Orissa, so we handle a lot of mail and back-and-forth stuff. The Belgaum office is where most of the action happens. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, keeping one foot in our home place while working here. The Club Road building is sturdy, but it has its quirks, like the door that sticks in the monsoon. We spend the day talking to guests and making sure the rooms are ready. It’s not always easy, and sometimes the staff gets tired, but we keep going. We don’t have any big speeches about what we do; we just show up, clean the floors, check the registers, and try to keep things organized. The Orissa connection is important to us, even if it's just a line on a form most of the time. It reminds us of where we started while we’re busy working here in the middle of Belgaum’s daily rush. We sometimes get letters for the Orissa address and have to forward them, which adds to our weekly chores.
