Yuva Sangharsh Farmers Producer Company Limited is basically just a group of us who live and farm around H No 56 at Malhivarashirala in Georai. Farming is hard work and doing it all by yourself is even harder. We figured that if we got together, maybe we could get better prices for seeds or find a way to get our crops to the market without losing too much money to the middle guys. Our office isn’t much to look at. It's just a house where we meet up to talk about the weather and the prices in the mandi. People come by after they finish in their fields. Sometimes we sit for hours just trying to figure out which crops will grow best next season. Georai can be dry and the water is always a worry for everyone here. We try to share what we know about different fertilizers or tools. Nobody here is an expert with a big degree, we just learned everything from our fathers and by making our own mistakes over the years. We registered this company because we wanted to be more official when we deal with the banks or the government. Most days you’ll find one of us sitting there with some papers, while others are out checking on the crops. It's a slow process but we are trying to make things a little bit better for the local families in Malhivarashirala.
