At Meenatai Farmer Producer Company Limited, we operate out of the Yeota village in the Kaij taluka of Beed district. Our main spot is at Gangadhar Bhaguji Gaikwad’s place. It is a very rural area, and everything we do revolves around the farming cycles of this part of Maharashtra. We decided to come together as a group because selling things on our own was not working out very well for most of us. The weather in Beed can be quite harsh, and the water situation is always something we have to worry about. Inside our little office, we spend most of the day coordinating with different families in the village. We talk about seeds, fertilizers, and which crops look like they will do okay this year. It is not a formal environment at all. Usually, someone is drinking tea while we look at the accounts or figure out who is taking the tractor out. We aren't trying to be some big national company; we just want our local community in Yeota to have a bit more security. When the harvest comes, things get very loud and hectic around here. We try to keep track of every bag of produce that comes through. It’s a lot of manual labor and honest effort. We don’t use any complicated systems, just plain talk and hard work to get things done. Sometimes we make mistakes with the paperwork, but we always fix them together.
