You can find us over at Rathod Nanabhau’s place in Jemashahapur, which is part of the Majalgaon area in Beed district. We named ourselves Vasantrao Naik Farmers Producer Company Limited because we wanted to have a proper name for our group of farmers. Most of us have small plots of land around here. We grow whatever the season allows, mostly focused on what handles the local weather best. Life in Beed can be tough when it gets dry, so we try to help each other manage water and soil. We are just normal people who spend most of our time in the dirt. We don’t have fancy suits or a big boardroom. Most of our decisions are made while sitting under a tree or standing by the road. We deal with everything from buying seeds to trying to find trucks to move our produce. It’s a lot of work, and sometimes things go wrong, but we just keep at it. Our office is basically just a room in the house where we keep the folders and the ledger. We aren't trying to sell you anything fancy; we are just trying to survive as farmers in a world that keeps getting more expensive. We know every corner of these fields. If you come looking for us, just ask for the farm group near Nanabhau’s house. Someone will point you the right way. We have been here for generations and hope to stay much longer.
