We started this group at the main market in Ashti because a few of us women wanted to figure out a better way to handle our crops and business together. It's basically a bunch of us from the local bachat gat who decided to take things a bit further. Living in Beed, specifically here in the Tal Ashti area, life is mostly about the land and what we can grow on it. We work out of the space near 1885 Ashti Main Market. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a practical place where we meet up to talk about seeds, sales, and how the season is going. Everyone knows everyone here. Most days we are just busy organizing what the different members have harvested. It’s a lot of paperwork sometimes, but it’s mostly just about supporting the women in our village. We don’t have a big corporate team, just local people trying to make sure our families get a fair shake. The market can be tough, so doing it as a company helps us stay organized. It's been a learning process for all of us. Sometimes things get messy or we run late, but the work gets done eventually. We're just part of the community here, trying to keep our farming traditions going while moving forward a bit. We talk about the rain a lot because it’s the most important thing for us. If it doesn’t rain, we all feel it. When the harvest is good, the whole market feels different. We’re just trying to look out for our own.
