Shantprakash Farmer Producer Company is based out of Yusuf Wadgaon in the Kaij area of Beed. We use Navnath Satpute’s place as our main office. Beed is a place where you really have to work hard if you want to get anything out of the ground. We all know how it is when the water is low and the heat is high. We decided to start this company because we were tired of doing everything on our own. By coming together in Yusuf Wadgaon, we can share the burden a little bit. We don't have any polished sales pitches or expensive office furniture. It’s just a room with some benches and a lot of talk about the next harvest. Navnath keeps an eye on the daily operations while the rest of us are often out in the fields or at the market. It’s a very practical way of doing things. We don't try to sound more important than we are. We are just farmers who realized that we have more strength if we work as a group. People from the surrounding villages know they can find us here if they need to discuss their crops. It’s a lot of responsibility, and we don't always get it right, but we try our best to be fair to everyone involved. It’s just how we live and work out here in Kaij, and we plan to keep at it.
