The women here in New Manik Nagar have always been the ones keeping things moving, especially when it comes to the farm. Prachiti Banjara Kala And Khawa Women'Sfarmer Producer Company Limited is our way of making that official. We are located in Parli, right near Shri Dattu Sakharam Rathod’s place. It is a busy little corner of the world. We focus a lot on the traditional Banjara arts and making khawa from the milk we get. It is a lot of hand-on work. Making khawa takes a lot of patience and long hours over the heat, especially when the weather is already warm outside. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity. We just want to make sure the work we do with our hands actually pays off for our families. The women in our group come from all over the Parli area, and we share the load. Some of us are better at the crafts while others know exactly how to handle the dairy side. We talk a lot while we work, mostly about our kids or what needs doing at home. It’s a community effort more than a business in the way people usually think of it. There is always someone coming or going at our spot in Manik Nagar. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep our traditions alive.
