You’ll find Pote Farmer Producer Company Limited right on Manzarsumbha Road. We are across from the TVS showroom in Patoda, Beed. Babasaheb Pote is the one who keeps things organized at house number one. We are a local group of farmers. Beed is a tough place for farming because of the water situation. We get some very dry spells, so we have to be smart about what we grow. We didn't want to be at the mercy of middlemen anymore, so we set this company up. It’s not a fancy business. It’s just us trying to get our crops to market. We spend our time in the fields and then come to the office to handle the government forms. It’s a busy road, so there’s always noise and people passing by. We talk to other farmers who come into town for supplies. We share information about what’s working and what’s not. There are no secrets here. We all want the same thing—to make a living from our land. We have had good years and bad ones, but we keep going. The office is just a place to meet and sign papers.
