Our company, Navchetana Mahila Agro Producer Company Limited, is run by women here in Kaij. We are based at Manisha Rajendra Palavade’s house, which is House Number 1 in Samta Nagar. Beed district is our home, and we’ve been farming here for a long time. We decided to start this company to give the women in our area a way to work together on our agricultural stuff. It’s not a big fancy office. We just gather at Manisha’s place and talk about the crops and the season. Balancing the farm work with our homes is a lot, but having this company helps us stay organized. We deal with whatever is growing, depending on the rain. Beed can be very dry, so we have to plan carefully. We don't have any promotional materials or marketing experts. Most people know us by word of mouth in Samta Nagar. We just want to get a fair price for our produce and help each other out with the logistics of selling. The paperwork is sometimes a bit much, but we are learning. We don't use any corporate language because that’s not who we are. We are just local women who know the land and want to make sure our work counts for something.
