Old Monda is always a busy spot with the market nearby, so there is always something going on. We are a farmer producer company, which is just a fancy way of saying we are a group of locals trying to get a better deal for our crops. In a place like Manjlegaon, agriculture is everything. If the harvest is bad, everyone feels it. We try to help with the technical side of things, like better seeds or advice on how to grow more. Our office isn't anything special. It’s tucked away in a busy part of town where we can stay close to the market action. We spend our time talking to the farmers who come in from the villages. They tell us what’s going wrong in their fields and we see if we can help. It is a lot of listening. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to see the local farms doing better than they did last year. It’s a tough life being a farmer in Bid, with the water issues and the prices changing all the time. We are just here to provide a bit of support and work together as a community. It’s simple and it’s necessary for us. Sometimes we sit outside on plastic chairs when the weather is nice to talk through plans.
