Our producer company is based in Shirala, which is part of the Georai Tehsil in Beed. Beed is a place that has seen its fair share of struggles with farming, especially when the rains do not come. We are just a group of farmers from this area who decided it was time to work as one. Our office is not much to look at, just a simple place where we can keep our records and meet up. We do not go in for any of that corporate talk about being the best or leading the way. We just know that if we do not look out for each other, no one else will. Most days are spent talking to members about their seeds or how they are going to get their harvest to the market. It is a lot of worrying about the weather and the prices, but that is just how it goes here in Georai. We are not a big organization with lots of money. We are just people who know the struggle of working the land. We keep our overhead low and our conversations straightforward. If you come by, you will likely find us just sitting around a table trying to solve the latest problem. It is not fancy, and it is definitely not easy, but it is our way of making things work in this part of the country where we live.
