We started Bandhutwa Kisancare Agrotech Farmerproducer Company Limited because some of us here in Sabala were tired of doing things alone. It is based out of Jagannath Kakade’s place in Beed. If you know the area, you know how dry it gets around here. We just figured if we pooled our resources for seeds and maybe some basic equipment, things might get a little easier for everyone in the group. It is not some big office or anything fancy, just a room where we sit down and talk about what we need for the next season. Beed can be a tough place for farmers, especially when the rains are not right. We spend a lot of time just figuring out how to get our produce to the market without losing too much money to the middleman. Someone usually has a tractor that needs fixing or there is a discussion about which fertilizers are actually working this year. It is mostly just neighbors helping neighbors. We do not have fancy chairs or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll probably find someone drinking tea and looking at crop prices on their phone. We are just people from the village trying to make the farm work pay off. It is a slow process, but we are keeping at it day by day. Sometimes we get things wrong, but that is part of the job when you work the land.
