We started Mahagodawari Farmers Producer Company Limited because we needed a way to handle our crops better here in Shirur. Our office is at 167 Arvitq, and that's where most of us meet up to talk about the season. It’s not a fancy place by any means. We are just a group of local farmers trying to make things work. Farming is hard work, as anyone living around here knows well. Dealing with the shifting weather and the local markets takes a lot out of you every single year. We figured if we worked together under this name, we might have a slightly better shot at getting fair prices for what we grow. There’s a lot of paperwork with these producer companies, but we manage it okay between the chores. Most days you’ll find some of us out in the fields early and then maybe checking in at the Arvi address later in the evening. We don't have a big marketing team or a polished office. It is just us. We grow what the land gives us and try to help each other out with seeds or equipment when someone is struggling. Shirur is our home, and this company is just a part of our daily lives now. It is mostly about the soil and the rain and making sure the harvest gets where it needs to go. We keep things very simple. If you are looking for us, that’s where we are, just doing the work that needs doing every day and hoping for a good season.
