Ganpattatya Farmer Producer Company Limited operates out of Patoda. Specifically, we use Namadev Ankushrao Borade’s house at number 22/1 for all our official bits and pieces. It’s a small operation. We don’t have a big sign outside or anything like that. People in Patoda know where we are. We are just a group of local farmers who decided to pool our resources. Working on your own is getting harder every year with the prices of everything going up. So we thought this company would help us buy things like fertilizer or seeds together to save a bit. It’s a lot of talk and a lot of waiting for the rain. We meet up at the house and talk about what crops are looking good and which ones aren't. There’s no fancy equipment in our office, just some chairs and a table where we keep our files. Namadev helps out with the space. We are all from around here, born and raised, so we know the land pretty well. It’s not about making a huge profit, just about making sure we can all keep our farms going for another season. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset most days. Sometimes the paperwork is a headache, but we manage. We just take things one day at a time here in Patoda and see how the harvest turns out.
