Bs Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited

Down here in Gotegaon, which is part of the Kaij taluka, we finally decided to put a name on what we’ve been doing for years. Bs Agro is basically a group of local farmers who wanted to have more say in how our crops are sold. We don't have a dedicated office building; we just work out of the village. It’s a lot of standing around in the fields or meeting up at someone's house to talk about the harvest. Farming in this part of the country is never simple, and doing it alone is even harder. By forming this producer company, we can buy what we need in bulk and hopefully get a better price when it’s time to sell. Most of us have been neighbors for decades, so we trust each other more than we trust some stranger from the city. The weather hasn't been very kind lately, but that’s just part of the job we chose. We grow what we can and try to keep the soil healthy for the next generation. There’s no big boss here, just a lot of members who all have their own land and their own worries. We share the equipment when someone’s breaks down. It’s a community thing as much as it is a business. We are just trying to keep our heads above water and do right by our families in Gotegaon. It is a tough but good life.
