We’re based out of Beed, specifically at Arjun Khandu’s place in Vansekacharwadi. It’s a small community, and everyone pretty much knows what everyone else is doing. We don’t have a big office building; we just use the space we have. Most of our meetings happen under the big tree outside or in the small room where we keep the ledger. Dealing with farming in Beed is never easy because the weather is so unpredictable. One year it's too much rain, the next it’s not enough. We formed this company to try and help each other survive those ups and downs. It’s not a polished business with a marketing plan. We’re just a bunch of guys who know the land. We spend a lot of time arguing over the best way to transport things or which seeds to buy for the next season. It’s honest work, even if it doesn’t pay as much as city jobs. We’re just trying to keep the Bindusara name going and make sure the families in the wadi are looked after. Sometimes the paperwork gets behind because we’re all too busy in the fields, but we catch up eventually. It’s a practical, local effort. We don’t have any fancy mission statements, just the goal of getting through the harvest together.
