We are based over in Hasnabad, which is part of the Dharur area in Beed district. Our setup is pretty simple, located at Shivaji Dattoba Nakhate’s place. Since we are a cotton farmers group, everything we do revolves around that one crop. Cotton is a huge part of life around here. It’s a long season and there is a lot of waiting for the right weather. We started this company because we wanted to have more control over how our cotton gets sold and processed. It’s better when we work as a group instead of everyone just doing their own thing. Most days you can find a few of us gathered around, talking about the market or the pests in the fields. We don't have a fancy building with air conditioning. It’s just a room where we keep our records and meet up. People in Hasnabad know where to find us. It’s a local effort through and through. We understand the soil here and how the rain affects the yield every year. Sometimes the prices are good and sometimes they aren't, but we stick together. It’s not a corporate thing with a big board of directors. It’s just us farmers trying to make a living off the land in Beed. We focus on the cotton and try to make sure things run smoothly for everyone who is part of the group. It is just basic, honest farming business that we do every single day.
