If you go to the Mittal Mall in Bathinda, you can find us on the first floor at units 120 and 121. Jury Groves Cafe Day is a place where we spend most of our time making coffee and getting snacks ready for the shoppers. Working in a mall is a bit different from having a shop on the street. You don't have to worry about the rain or the dust as much, but you do have to deal with the constant music playing in the hallways and the crowds on Saturday nights. Our space isn't overly fancy. We have some tables and chairs and a counter where we do all the work. Most of us live nearby in Bathinda, so we just walk or take a scooter to the mall every morning. We don't have a mission statement or a bunch of rules about how to talk to people. We just try to be nice and get the orders right. Sometimes the espresso machine gets finicky and we have to spend an hour messing with it, which is always a headache. The mall life is fast-paced, and you see a lot of the same faces every day, from the security guards to the other shop owners. It’s a decent way to spend the day, even if your feet are tired by the time the mall closes at night. We just keep things running and stay busy without making things too complicated for ourselves or the people who visit.
