KARAM MACHINE TOOLS

It’s been quite a long time since we started here at Karam Machine Tools. Our place is on Kahnawan Road, right near the Old Chungi. If you know the area, you know it stays pretty busy most of the day with all the trucks and people moving around. We have our post box, number one, because we've been around for a bit. The shop usually smells like oil and metal, which I guess is normal for what we do. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just some people working on machines and trying to get orders out on time. Sometimes the power goes out or the road gets blocked, but we just keep going. We handle a lot of different machine tool parts and sometimes people just stop by to ask if we can fix something or if we have a specific bit in stock. It’s a bit noisy here because of the traffic and the work going on inside, but you get used to it. My desk is usually covered in papers and some metal shavings that seem to find their way everywhere. We aren't doing anything world-changing, just basic mechanical work that needs doing. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but our spot remains the same. The tea stall nearby does a good business because we're always out there getting a cup between shifts. It’s just how things are here on Kahnawan Road.
