DS Machinery Makers

Our workshop is out on Bye Pass Road, right between Batala and Aliwal. If you know the area, you know the railway phatak is just a stone’s throw away. We spend a lot of our time listening to the trains go by and waiting for the gates to open when we’re moving stuff. DS Machinery Makers isn’t a quiet place. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal or some engine humming in the background. It gets pretty dusty out here on the bypass, especially when the trucks fly past heading toward the city. We’ve got a lot of heavy equipment sitting around the floor. Most days, we are covered in a bit of grease or oil from whatever we are putting together that week. It’s a practical setup, nothing too pretty to look at. People usually find us by looking for the railway crossing first. The location is handy for getting parts delivered since the road is wide enough for the big lorries to pull in. We have a small office area where we keep the books, but mostly we’re out on the floor where the real work happens. It’s hot in the summer under the roof, but we keep the fans going. It’s just how things are done here in this part of town. We make the machines, fix what’s broken, and try to keep everything running on schedule despite the traffic.
