Guru Gobind Mechanical Works

Over at Guru Gobind Mechanical Works, we are based on Vishwakarma Road in the Simble area. We are not too far from the G T Road, and the Street Gurdwara is a very close neighbor. Being near the G T Road means there is a constant hum of traffic in the background. Our shop is mostly filled with iron, steel, and the smell of welding. It’s a place where things get built or fixed with a lot of manual labor. The floors are hard concrete, often covered in shavings from the lathes. We have a small crew and we all know each other well. We don’t really use fancy computers for much; it’s mostly just hands-on stuff. The morning starts with a quick tea and then we get right into the work. The Gurdwara nearby provides a nice sense of peace when things get too hectic in the shop. The building we are in has seen better days, but the roof doesn't leak much and there’s enough light to see what we are doing. We keep the doors open most of the day to let the air circulate, even when it’s hot outside. It’s just a standard mechanical shop where we take on whatever jobs the locals bring to our door. No big plans, just working through the pile of work every day. We focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the parts fit like they are supposed to before they leave our shop. Usually we wrap up around seven.
