Jain Steel And Power Ltd

Out here in Post Durlaga, things are a bit different than the big cities. We are part of Jain Steel And Power Ltd, and this is where we handle the local operations in the Jharsuguda area of Orissa. It’s a dusty place sometimes, especially when the trucks are moving, but it’s home for us. We have our office right here where the mail comes in. It’s a simple building with a tin roof in some parts and big windows to let the air in. We don’t have air conditioning in every room, so we use fans mostly. Our work is all about steel and making sure the power side of things stays steady. It’s a lot of physical work and a lot of paperwork too. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we all know each other well. We eat lunch together and talk about the local news. There aren't any fancy restaurants around, so we just bring food from home. It’s a very grounded way of living and working. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just make sure the orders are filled and the machines are running as they should. If you come by, you’ll see we are just a bunch of regular people working hard in the heat. It’s not a polished life, but it’s what we do every day here in Durlaga. There is always something that needs fixing or checking on, so we stay busy enough most weeks.
