Roops Beauty Parlour

The shop is right in Dashadrone Super Market on Rajarhat Road. It’s a busy spot, honestly. We’ve been here for a while now, just doing the usual things like threading, hair cutting, and sometimes facials when people ask for them. The market gets really noisy in the evenings, but inside it’s okay. We have a couple of chairs and a big mirror that’s seen better days. Usually, it’s just me and another girl working here. We see a lot of the same faces from the neighborhood. People stop in after doing their grocery shopping because we are right there in the market area. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise, but they keep the place cool enough. Kolkata summers are tough, so the fan is a must. We don’t have fancy air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just a simple place where you can get your eyebrows done without spending too much money. We usually open up around mid-morning and stay until the market starts to quiet down at night. There’s a tea stall nearby, so we drink a lot of chai during the slow hours. Rajarhat Road is always full of cars and buses, you can hear the horns all day long. We just focus on the work and chatting with whoever is sitting in the chair. It's a nice way to spend the day, really. I think we’ve been here long enough that the walls need a new coat of paint soon.
