Avra Ladies Beauty Parlour

Avra Ladies Beauty Parlour has been here on Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy Sarani in Kolkata for a good while now. We are tucked away near Surit Sangha Club, which most people around here know pretty well. It’s a busy spot, especially in the evenings when everyone is out and about. The shop isn't anything fancy, just a regular place where local women come to get their hair done or maybe some threading. Sometimes the humidity in Kolkata makes everything feel a bit sticky, so the fans are always going full speed inside. We see a lot of the same faces every week, mostly neighbors who live just down the street. It’s nice because we know everyone’s name and how they like things. There is usually some tea being shared and a bit of talk about what is happening in the neighborhood. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything like that. Most people find us just by walking past or hearing about it from a friend. The chairs are old but comfortable enough for a quick sit. On rainy days, the water drips a bit near the entrance, but we just put a mat down and keep going. It’s just a normal part of life here. We try to keep things simple and honest for everyone who walks through the door. It’s not a big corporate place, just us working every day to make sure the ladies leave feeling a bit better than they did when they walked in.
