Arati Ladies Beauty Parlour

Our shop, Arati Ladies Beauty Parlour, is located in the Sajirhat area of New Barrackpore. We are right on Station Road, which is a very busy stretch of road in this part of Kolkata. Since we are near the station, we see a lot of people passing by all day long. Some are heading to the train, and others are coming home from work. We opened this place because we wanted to have a small business of our own in our local area. The parlour has the basic things we need to work. There are a couple of chairs, some mirrors that we clean every single morning, and a small area for people to sit while they wait. It is not a fancy place with expensive decorations. We prefer to keep things honest and straightforward. Most of the ladies who visit us are from the nearby houses. We talk about the local news or what is happening in the market while we work. The atmosphere is very casual. Sometimes the shop feels small when there are many people, but we manage just fine. Working on Station Road means there is never a dull moment. We just keep our heads down and focus on the task at hand. It has been a good journey so far, just being part of the community and doing our daily work in New Barrackpore.
