Beautiful You

Our shop, Beautiful You, is right at Colony More in Barasat. It’s a very well-known spot because it is directly opposite Subhash Maidan. On days when there is a fair or a football match at the Maidan, the whole area gets incredibly crowded with people from all over. We can see the trees and the open grass of the field from our front door. Barasat has its own pace, and Colony More is right in the middle of all that movement. The address is 700124 for anyone sending us mail. We’ve got a simple sign and a glass front. Inside, the space is divided into a few sections for different tasks. It’s nothing spectacular, just a functional place for the work we do every day. The floor is tiled and we try to keep it clean, though the mud from the Maidan sometimes finds its way in when it rains. We see a lot of people passing by on their way to the market or the railway station. There is always a breeze coming off the open ground across the street, which is a relief in the summer. We have some old magazines on the table and a clock that ticks a bit too loud. It’s a familiar sight for the locals who walk this route every single day. We don't use a lot of fancy decorations, just the essentials for a working day. It’s just us doing our thing across from the field.
