Ali Saloon

Ali Saloon is found over in Beraberi on Narayanpur Road in the 700136 area. It is a simple place that we have been running for a long time now. Narayanpur Road is always full of traffic and movement so there is a lot of dust that comes in through the door but we do our best to keep things tidy. We are not a big corporate chain or anything like that. It is just a small shop where local people from the Beraberi neighborhood come when they need a haircut. We have a few chairs and some old wooden cupboards for our tools. The walls have a few pictures on them but nothing special. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their names because they have been coming here since they were kids. It is a place where you can hear all the local news and gossip while you get your hair trimmed. We don't do any of those modern styles that you see on television. We just do regular cuts that look neat and tidy. The lighting is just a few tubes on the ceiling and sometimes the power goes out but we just keep working with the sunlight from the door. It is a practical shop for practical people who live and work in this part of Kolkata. We are just happy to serve our neighbors and be a part of the daily life on Narayanpur Road.
