Mou Ladies Beauty Parlour

This is a small place for ladies located in Bimal Market on Station Road. Madhyamgram is always crowded and moving because of the railway station nearby. People are always running back and forth to catch their trains. Mou Ladies Beauty Parlour is tucked away in a corner of the market area. It’s not a very big shop, just enough room for a few people to sit and wait their turn. We have some thick curtains up for privacy because it’s a very busy market right outside the door. The air can get a bit stuffy when there are many people inside, so we keep the small wall fan running on high speed most of the time. We do threading, hair cutting, and all the usual things that the local women want. We have some old posters on the walls showing different hair styles from years ago, though most people just ask for the same thing every time. The market noise comes through the thin walls but we are very used to it by now. We spend a lot of our day chatting with the customers who live in the apartments around the station. It’s a very simple business and we like it that way. We buy most of our supplies from the other shops nearby in the same market. Sometimes the lights flicker when a heavy train goes past, but we just keep working. We don't have any big signs, just the name on the door.
