Mohua Beauty Parlour

Mohua Beauty Parlour is situated on Badu Road in Kolkata, with the pin code 700155. We are easy to find because we are right opposite the Axis Bank ATM. It is a convenient spot for people who are out doing their banking or running errands. The shop is quite simple. I have a few mirrors on the walls and the usual chairs for hair and face work. The room isn't very large, so things are kept close together. I usually have the radio on low in the background. Badu Road can get quite busy in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. That is usually when we are the busiest. I don't have a team of people, it is just me and maybe one helper on busy days. We use the standard stuff you find in any local parlour. There is no air conditioning, just a good ceiling fan that keeps the air moving. I have a small cupboard where I keep the clean towels and the various bottles we need. Most of our customers are from the houses just down the street. They like that they don't have to go all the way into the main city for a simple trim or some threading. It is a quiet kind of work. I like the routine of opening up, cleaning the combs, and waiting for the first customer of the day. It is just a small local shop for local people.
