Navsandhan Kisan Producer Company Limited is located in Saleh Nagar, which is part of the Dewa area in Barabanki. Our office is at 133, and it is the place where Pratap is usually around to handle things. Barabanki is a place with a lot of history and a lot of farming, so it feels right to be stationed here. The building itself is quite modest, just like the rest of the neighborhood. We spend our time working with the local kisan, or farmers, trying to organize the produce and figure out the market prices. It is a lot of paperwork and even more phone calls to different vendors and growers. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just have to sit and wait or use the light from the windows to finish our writing. People stop by all the time to ask questions or just to see how the season is looking. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that; it is just us and the local community. The road to Dewa is usually busy with tractors and people going to the market. We like being part of the local flow of things. It is a practical business run by people who actually live here and understand the struggles of the land. We do not use big words or have complicated plans. We just focus on the task at hand and try to make sure everyone gets a fair deal for their hard work.
