Sidhi Vinayak Traders

Being right near the State Bank of India here in Sadullanagar makes things interesting for Sidhi Vinayak Traders. We see everyone who goes in to do their banking business. Our shop is in Tehsil Utraula, Balrampur district, and it has been sitting here quite a while. We have a lot of wooden shelves that reach all the way to the high ceiling, filled with all sorts of items we trade. I use a rickety wooden ladder to get the stuff from the top, which my wife keeps telling me to replace before I fall. The floor is made of old stone and it is worn smooth in the spots where people stand the most while waiting. We get a lot of farmers coming in from the surrounding villages after they finish their business at the post office or the bank. It is a social place as much as a business. We talk about the crops, the rain, and the local news while we count out items for them. The light in the back of the shop is a bit dim because the window is small and usually blocked by some cardboard boxes. We try to keep things organized but by Tuesday it usually looks like a bit of a jumble again. It is a family-run thing. My son does the heavy lifting now that I am getting a bit slower in my old age. We don't have a website or anything, just our name on the wall.
