Saakar Shetaki Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out in Pokhari, which is in the Vaijapur area of Aurangabad. We work from Vijay Dada Thube’s place. It’s a quiet village setting, which suits the kind of work we do with local farmers. We aren't some big city firm with suits and ties. Most of us are just regular people who understand what it’s like to work the land. The office is pretty basic, just a place to keep the books and meet with the members. We don't have any fancy signage or anything like that. People in Pokhari know where to find us. We focus on getting the produce from the farms to the market without too many middle-men getting in the way. It’s honest work, even if it’s exhausting sometimes. The roads out here aren't always the best, so getting things moved can be a challenge during the monsoon. We just take it one day at a time. We don't make big promises we can't keep. We just try to help the farmers get a decent price for what they grow. That’s why we started this company in the first place. It’s about community and helping each other out when times are tough. We don't need a lot of praise for it. It is just what needs to be done. We stay busy with the seeds and the seasons, and that is enough for us. It keeps us connected to the ground.
