We are set up out here in Liha, which is part of the Aurangabad district. If you are looking for us, we operate out of Santosh Sakhale’s place. It is a quiet spot, mostly just fields and the usual farm activity you see around this part of Maharashtra. We started S S M Water Farmer Producer Company Limited because water is always the main thing on everyone's mind when they are trying to grow anything in this soil. It is not an easy job being a farmer these days. The weather changes, the rain is never quite when you expect it, and we just wanted a way to manage things a bit better as a group. Most of us here have been working the land for a long time. We know the dust and the heat of Liha pretty well. Being a producer company means we try to handle our business together instead of everyone just struggling on their own. It is a local effort, run by people who actually live here and understand what the ground needs. There isn't any fancy office or a big team of city people telling us what to do. We just sit around under the shade, figure out the water situation, and try to make sure the crops get what they need to survive the season. It is just basic work, really. There are days when the pumps break or the pipes leak, and we just deal with it. Nothing too complicated, just trying to keep the farms going and making sure we can support our families without too much trouble from the outside markets.
