Marotrao Farmer Producer Company Limited is a local group we set up to help the farmers around the Aurangabad area. We are based at R 28, HIG II in the MHADA CIDCO N7 area. It might seem like a bit of a residential spot, but it’s where we handle all the business for our collective. We realized that if we wanted to get anywhere with our farming, we had to stop acting as separate units and start working as one company. It’s not about becoming a big business; it’s about having a voice when we go to the markets or when we need to buy stuff for our farms. Most of the people involved are just regular farmers who have been working the soil around here for years. We use this space in CIDCO to keep our records straight and make sure everyone is getting a fair shake. It’s a very hands-on operation. We don’t have fancy secretaries or a polished reception desk. Usually, you’ll just find a couple of us there going over papers or talking about the latest harvest. We’re just trying to make the process of farming a bit more stable for everyone in our group. Aurangabad is our home, and we want to see the local farming community thrive without getting pushed around by big middle-men. It’s honest work, and we do it the best way we know how, right from our little base in N7.
