Our group is based out of Kothandra, which is in the Sillod area of Aurangabad. We use Sanjay Gadhe’s place for all our administrative stuff because you need a spot to keep the ledgers and receipts. Most of us involved in this are just local farmers who realized that working alone wasn't cutting it anymore. We grow what grows well in this district and try to help each other out with fertilizer and getting the right seeds at the right time. It gets pretty hot here, and the water is always a worry, so we talk about that a lot. It’s not a corporate thing with a big board of directors. It is just a handful of guys from the village trying to make a living. We have our fair share of arguments about which way the market is going, but at the end of the day, we’re all in the same boat. We started this because we wanted a bit more control over where our produce goes. If you come by Kothandra, you’ll probably see us out by the storage area or near the fields. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on word of mouth and the relationships we’ve built around Sillod over the years. It is a practical way to manage the farm business without all the unnecessary fuss and bother that usually comes with it.
