Chintaman Farmer Producer Company Limited is set up at Chintaman Laxman Bankar’s house. That is house number 91 in Bahirgaon, which is part of Ta. Kannad. It is a local thing, really. We are a group of farmers who decided to pool our resources together. Working out of a home makes it easier for everyone to stop by after they are done in the fields. Bahirgaon is a small place, so word travels fast about what we are doing. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just Chintaman and a few others keeping the books and making sure we have what we need for the season. The house is where we keep the records and meet up to talk about the grain or whatever we are growing. Kannad is a good area for farming, but it has its challenges. We try to help the local guys get a better handle on things. It’s not always easy, and sometimes we are just learning as we go. But having a base at house 91 gives us a place to stay organized. We aren't doing anything flashy. It is just basic agriculture work and trying to make sure everyone gets a fair shake.
