Bhasawa Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Alegaon, which is part of the Kannad area in Aurangabad district. Our office is set up at Namdev Khanderao Walunje’s house, number 230. It’s a typical village house, nothing fancy, but it serves us well for what we do. Being in Alegaon means we are right in the middle of the farming action. We aren't some distant company based in a tall glass building. We are the people you see every day on the roads and in the fields. We started this because we saw a need for farmers to work together instead of everyone just doing their own thing. It makes the logistics a bit easier, even if the paperwork is a headache sometimes. The 431001 area has its own set of challenges with water and soil, and we talk about that a lot during our meetings. We keep things straightforward. If you come by, you might see us sorting through papers or talking on our mobile phones with traders. It’s a grassroots kind of thing. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. It’s just Namdev and the rest of the members trying to figure out the best way to move our produce. We’ve lived here our whole lives, so we care about how things turn out for the local growers. We sit on the porch and hash out the details of our plans until the sun goes down and it is time to head home for dinner.
