Athecrop Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our little company is located in Athegaon, which is part of the Kannad taluka. We work out of Vithal Yamaji Thokal’s house, specifically at house number 27. Everyone in the village knows where it is, so we don't really need a big sign or anything like that. We are a farmer producer group, so our main focus is on the crops grown by the people right here in our area. The name Athecrop comes from our village name, which we thought was a good way to show where we are from. Most of the day is spent talking to farmers who stop by to discuss their yields or the market situation. It’s a very informal environment. We sit on the porch or in the main room and go over our plans for the season. We don't have any fancy computers or high-tech equipment, just some notebooks and a lot of local knowledge. Kannad can be a bit quiet, but during harvest time, things get really busy around here. We try to help everyone get a fair price for their hard work. It is just a few of us running the show, and we've all known each other since we were kids. There’s no corporate hierarchy here. We just do what makes sense for the community. If you ever find yourself in Athegaon, just ask for Vithal’s house and you’ll find us. We are usually around, either working on paperwork or out in the fields.
