Areshwar Farmers Producer Company Limited is based at Narayan Nana Jadhav’s house, which is Gate Number 179 in Wanegaon Khurd. We are located in the Phulambri area. Most of us here have been farming for our whole lives, just like our fathers did. We decided to set up this company so we could have a bit more power when it comes to selling what we grow. It is much easier to talk to big buyers when you have a whole group behind you. The office is very basic, just some table and chairs at G.No.179 where we keep our books. We spend most of our time out in the fields, so the office is often empty until the evening. We deal with whatever crops the Phulambri soil gives us, and we try to make the most of it. There is no corporate polish here. We are usually covered in dust and our hands are rough from the tools. We don’t use any big words or have any complicated plans. We just want to make sure the farmers in Wanegaon Khurd can feed their families and keep their land. Sometimes the crops fail and it is stressful for everyone, but we stick together.
