Arayan Farmers Producer Company Limited is located at Jawali in the Kannad area. We operate out of Dadasaheb P Mohite’s place. It’s a typical village setting where everyone knows what everyone else is growing. We are just a bunch of farmers who thought it was time to join up. It is hard to deal with the big markets when you are just one person, so we formed this company to help us out. We don’t have a big staff or any corporate rules. We just meet up at Dadasaheb’s and talk about the work. Sometimes we talk about the seeds or the tractor repairs, and other times we just worry about the weather. Jawali is a good place, but farming here takes a lot of effort. We don't have a mission statement or any of those things you see in city businesses. We just want to get our crops sold and make enough to start again next year. It is a cycle that we have been part of for a long time. Having the producer company just makes the business side of things a little less confusing. We aren't experts in everything, but we know our land. If you come by the post office in Jawali, you aren't far from us. We are just local people doing our best with what we have.
