Yuvarajsinh Rameshchandra Katara Madhyamik Shala

Yuvarajsinh Rameshchandra Katara Madhyamik Shala is a bit of a long name, but everyone in Fatepura just knows us as the local secondary school. We are located in the Dahod district, which is out on the eastern side of Gujarat. The area around Fatepura is quite hardworking and traditional. Our school is a central part of the village life here. The building is simple, made of brick and concrete, and it has been standing for quite some time. We have students coming in from the nearby areas, often walking quite a distance to get here. The atmosphere is very down-to-earth. We don't have air conditioning or fancy carpets; it’s just stone floors and ceiling fans that hum all day long. The staff is mostly made up of people who grew up around here or in Dahod. We talk to the parents in the local language and keep things very informal. Our main goal is just to get through the curriculum and make sure the students understand their lessons. There is a lot of laughter in the corridors during recess. Sometimes the electricity goes out, but we just carry on with the windows open. The pincode here is 389172.
