About Moulana Azad High School – Education in Anand
Down here in Jhalod, Dahod, our school sits as a familiar part of the neighborhood. It’s not a huge campus, but it does the job for the families living around here. Most of the students come from the local streets and the small villages just outside the main town. You can usually find a bunch of them hanging out by the main gate before the first bell. Inside, the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the wooden benches have seen better days, but they are sturdy enough. We focus on the daily lessons. There is always a lot of paperwork on the office desks and teachers talking about the next set of exams. Jhalod is a busy place, and we are right in the middle of it. We don't have a big cafeteria, so most kids bring their own tiffins and eat together under the trees if the weather is nice. We have a small library where the books are a bit old, but the students still use them. It’s a very normal school. No one is trying to be fancy. We just show up, do the teaching, and go home. Sometimes we have small events for holidays where everyone brings snacks. It’s just a community of people trying to get through the school year. The days are long, especially in the summer heat, but we get by and keep things moving forward as best as we can.
